PRAYER GOALS FOR 2024

God answered our 2023 prayer question, “What is next?” What are our church prayer goals for 2024?

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me— watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG)

As we begin ministry with an officially merged membership, goals, budget, leadership and staff, we ask God to show us the path to renewal. We will walk, work, and watch how to live freely and lightly. Jesus, we walk, work, and watch you (Mt. 11:28-30 MSG). We seek to abide, to serve and be generous. Help us in giving, gratitude, and godliness. We want to live in these ways… freely and lightly!

2024 Church Prayer Goals:

1. Renewal for NWCC-CCCF (20 testimonies of renewal) 2. Young families at both sites (20 more children)

3. Finances to grow ministry hours (exceeding budget by 10%)

4. Blessings for our partners (ECA, TCS & construction, ES, CC)

5. Continuing unity & identity, and a new name

6. Direction about a potential Chinese plant

Expanded Prayers:

1. Renewal for NWCC-CCCF (20 testimonies of renewal)

Lord, our renewal focus again is to abide in you. We want to meet you again, Jesus. You ask us who we say you are (Mk 8:29) and we say you are Love (1Jn. 4:8-9)! You have a loving plan for us and you reveal secrets to us (Dan.2:28). In hearing you, we see all the wonderful things you have done (1Sa. 12:23-24) and will do. Oversee our renewal groups, seminars, and retreats. Please renew NWCC-CCCF, and give us twenty testimonies (or more!) to share with each other this year. Give us a desire for change, a passion for sanctification, removing sinful obstacles in us (Is. 57:14).

2. Young families at both sites (20 more children)

O Holy Spirit, please send young families to our church. And help us understand the times we are in. We seek your truth. We pray for power, love, self-discipline (2 Tim. 1:7) and discernment through difficult times in our world. Lord, give us new leaders as we need them… more young leaders, second generation Chinese leaders, renewed leaders. Help us to stay alert and be on guard, invite and reach out until you come again (Mk. 13:33).

3. Finances to grow ministry hours (exceeding budget by 10%)

Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, as we begin ministry with an officially merged membership, goals, budget, leadership and staff, we ask God to show us the path to renewal. We will walk, work, and watch You how to live freely and lightly. Bless us with provision and a spirit of generosity.

4. Blessings for our partners (ECA, TCS & construction, ES, CC)

Help us be one in unity as we are Christ in our Community. Let us be a church prepared in prayer. Prepare our sites for ministry. And then bless our sites for the schooling and programs that happen after our worship. God, bless our community and our community partners—schools, associations, and camp.

5. Continuing unity & identity, and a new name

Show us ways to unity and mutual encouragement as we become one Body under You. Build up, buildup (Is.57:14) our church in new ways (e.g. prayer ministry at CCCF, deliverance ministry at NWCC, women’s ministry) and clear away spiritual obstacles personally and corporately (Is. 58:12, 62:10). They will know us by our love! Show us a new collective identity and name. But more than just a new name for our church, we want to see who we really are to you, wholly and dearly loved (Col. 3:12-17). More than legally one, we want to be spiritually one. Our oneness comes from you (Phil. 2:1-2) and it is our prayer as it was yours (Jn. 17:20-21).

6. Direction about a potential Chinese plant

Father, as we enter into this merged multi-site ministry, give us contrite and humble hearts (Is. 57:14-15). Revive the hearts in our church and our sister churches in the BGCA. Help us to clear away impediments to renewal—let us simplify and set free. Perhaps you will show us a new planting opportunity. Perhaps you will show us ways to see more BGCA mergers. Will you revive us again (Ps. 85:6)? Hear from heaven and restore our land (2 Chron. 7:14)!
